Stay With Us

What a peaceful place to enjoy a Walla Walla getaway. We watched sunrise from the front porch and sunsets from the side porch after dinner with a glass of wine. Just out of the way enough… but still convenient to town and the wineries. We will be back.

– Cottage guest

The Armstrong Vineyard Cottage is a 2-bedroom Walla Walla vacation rental, located next to our home at our farm & vineyard on the north side of Walla Walla – just  15 minutes north of downtown. The 22-acre property is nestled in the rolling hills just south of the Palouse, bordered by wheat fields, and featuring 2 acres of vineyard, a creek, cliffs, pastures, wild and farm animals, stunning views of both sunrise and sunset – and the future site of our winery.

About the Cottage:

The Armstrong Vineyard Cottage is a charming and fully-equipped guest house on our farm just a few miles north of downtown Walla Walla. Nestled among a grove of trees next to our Valley Grove Vineyard, the cottage offers a unique and relaxed vineyard living experience.

The 2-bedroom cottage sleeps 4 and features a master bedroom and guest room, living room, full kitchen, dining room and wrap-around porch. A wood burning stove in the living room adds charm during the colder months, and the gas grill and outdoor furniture make it a great place to dine al fresco when it’s warmer. Guests can enjoy wandering around the vineyard and exploring the farm and all of its wildlife – from deer and owls, to hawks and wild turkeys – as well as our own farm animals, including sheep, chickens and barn cats. Louis and Goldie, our Maremma livestock guardian dogs, will also be on site.

We hope you have a wonderful stay and we look forward to sharing this glorious place with you!

FAQs

Are pets allowed at the Armstrong Vineyard Cottage?

Please leave your pets at home to keep them safe. Because we have farm animals, including our livestock guardian dogs, pets are not allowed.

Are there food options nearby?

The Vineyard Cottage is in a rural agricultural setting, but Walla Walla has a wide range of dine-in restaurants, takeout, and quick service options within a quick 15 minute drive. In our experience, delivery services are not generally available to the farm. There are a number of grocery stores in town and the Vineyard Cottage is equipped with a full kitchen and cookware. Plus, there’s a propane BBQ grill on the patio. Because this is a private rental house, meals are not provided but there’s regular coffee on the counter and a coffee maker for you to brew your own.

Can we purchase Armstrong Family wines during our stay?

Yes! We’re happy to deliver wines directly to the cottage. We ask for at least 24 hours notice because we don’t keep wine onsite. Simply place an order here on the website and select Walla Walla Local Delivery as the shipping option.  PLEASE also send us an email when placing an order so we can coordinate dropping at off at a convenient time.

Do you allow smoking in the guest house or on the property?

There is no smoking allowed inside the cottage – or anywhere on our property. Thank you for your understanding.

Will the Armstrong Family be there during my stay?

While we hope to have a chance to see you and enjoy a quick hello (our house is right next door to the cottage), we will be going about our day-to-day lives so we cannot guarantee we’ll be around when you are. We generally try to keep our distance for your privacy but give us a wave if you see us around!

Can guests entertain a group and use the yard?

Guests are welcome to use the patio and yard around the house. We provide patio chairs and outdoor tables for your use. Any type of large group event be coordinated ahead of time to ensure compliance with local codes, etc. Finally, because noise travels far in the quiet countryside, we ask that you lower your voices/music/etc. between 10pm and 8am. We will do the same.

What do you mean by "farm" and are there animals?

The Armstrong Vineyard Cottage is located on a working vineyard and farmstead. In addition to the grapevines, we have chickens, sheep, cats and dogs. For your safety while at the farm, we ask that you abide signage, do not cross any fences, and remain clear of equipment, out buildings, and gated pastures. (Don’t worry – there is plenty of space to walk and explore!) During the daytime, there may be workers in the vineyard and the in vicinity of the house. It is occasionally necessary for us to drive tractors alongside the Cottage.

Is the Armstrong Vineyard Cottage suitable for families with children?

Yes! We’ve raised our children on the property and the guest house is perfect for a family getaway. Because this is a working vineyard and farmstead, children must be supervised at all times to keep them safe. Please review the binder in the house for details and a map of areas on the property that may be dangerous for children. Children and adults should never cross fence lines on the property. Also, please remind children that they should never attempt to pickup or touch animals – including cats, chickens, and dogs.

Please visit our listing on Walla Walla Vacation Rentals for more photos of the house and property.
